Sally Anderson and Kristy Wetherell develop and deliver pilates specialist education for Pilates International Training Centre (PilatesITC). PilatesITC was the first pilates registered training organization (RTO) accredited by the Australian government, and founder of the first ever pilates Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications. These qualifications have recently been licensed to TAFE for delivery in Australia. Sally is Founder and Director of Pilates International. She holds a Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice, Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training, Certification in Nutrition and is Gold Certified by Pilates Method Alliance (USA). Having started Pilates under Rael Isacowitz, Sally became a faculty member for Body Arts & Science in the 1990’s and delivered instructor training extensively throughout the world for BASI for many years. On returning to Australia she developed the accredited Certificate IV and Diploma programs that PilatesITC deliver. Sally is current and founding elected president of the Pilates Alliance Australasia and was a founding co-director of the annual industry conference Mind Your Body; PilatesITC is a Registered Training Organization with the Australian government (RTO No. 90901) and with the Pilates Method Alliance (USA).

Sally’s pilates career includes working with extensive injury rehabilitation as well as elite training of professional and trainee dancers. Sally has worked with dancers and sports professionals on the West Coast of the United States and London, including contemporary and classical dancers as well as West End performers. In Australia Sally managed the pilates studio at the Sydney Dance Company for two years in the early nineties, working with the company dancers in injury prevention and conditioning, as well as injury rehabilitation. She has also worked with Australian Ballet company principal dancers, soloists and corp as well as Aust Ballet School dancers, and consults on training strategies for several Sydney dance schools. With a background in dance and musical theatre performance, Sally has worked extensively with all types of performers over the years, including Carrie-Ann Moss during the Australian filming of The Matrix Trilogy, Wendy Harmer, Rhonda Burchmore, Ian Moss and Leanne Benjamin.


Kristy has always had an interest in human movement, health and science and graduated from the University of Sydney in 1996 with a Bachelor of Medical Science. Her avid interest in health and fitness led Kristy to study the Pilates Method in 1998. Undertaking apprenticeship training initially at Solutions for Pain and Injury provided her with experience in a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of pain and injuries, and in the application of Pilates-based exercise for injury rehabilitation.  Kristy went on to obtain her Body Arts and Science certification in 2000 followed by her Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice with Pilates International in 2004. She also holds Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Kristy is Course Director for Pilates International Training Centre and was a founding council member for the Pilates Alliance Australasia.
